Well, since I last updated there have been a few developments. After 5 days of preschool Jim and I decided to pull Jackson out. He was not happy there and we got the impression that the teachers werent' real happy with him. I fretted about it. Wished I had "normal" boy blah blah blah. Then I got a swift kick in the butt (from Daddy) who reminded me that he's not normal - HE'S BETTER THAN NORMAL. That makes dealing with him a bit more time consuming than the average kiddo. I don't blame the teachers...they had 20 kids to deal with. They just don't have the ability or need to take the time to deal with him. That's one more reason I am sure that homeschooling is the right decision for this family.
Jackson has had a few "moments" I want to make sure I put down in this babybook.
We started giving Jackson something we call a "Magic Sippy" two-three times a day. After a lot of research we figured Jackson shows signs of ADHD or something like that. Before we do anything drastic like medication, we wanted to try to help him with diet. The wonderful world of the net says a diet free of sugars, dyes, processed foods and nonbleached weat flours is one way. The other is by introducing caffeine in specific amounts through the day. As well as a high protein, low carb diet. So, in the magic sippy is Coffee, milk, Flaxseed Oil, and a whey protein powder (free of criatine and other such chemicals). He gets that in the morning when he first gets up, in the afternoon either right before or right after quiet time depending on his behavior and right before bed. We've seen an amazing result from this. He's still more energetic and difficult than the average boy but it's at a managable level (most of the time LOL).
He's still uber smart...scarey smart really. We have an appointment to meet with doctors and professors at Ball State in the next 5 months (long waiting list) to have him tested for giftedness, an IQ test (as good of one as you can give a 4 year old), as well as any beahioral problems - like ADD, ADHD, Impulsivity and Oppositional Defiance. We found this place that specializes in kids like Jackson - super smart and hard to parent. Hopefully they will not only give us answer as to "WHAT?' but "HOW?"
In the meantime I just try my best to keep him mind busy and occupied. That's when he's happiest.

If you check the photos from October you will see a photo of Jackson (sorry it's blurry) on the potty with red stuff ALLLL over his face. He was in the bathroom for a bit of a long time.. I started down the hall and heard him hussle to get on the potty, obviously being caught doing something. I see him sitting on the potty with my "lip ink" all over his face. I tried not to laugh and asked, "What have you been doing in here?" He answers sheepishly without making eye contact, "Just sitting here poopin' That's all...." He's not a very good liar at all! LOL
We've spent a lot of time with Mamaw, Lilli and Mommy's family this month. Daddy has returned to the workforce and that means there are lots of hours we are home alone. Road trips break up the day. We've done the pumpkin patch, fall crafts, bon fires (lots), and pumpkin painting. For Halloween Jackson tells me he wants to be a coupon...then after some consideration he explains he wants to be a "buy one get one free" coupon. Then more specifically, a PEPSI buy one get one free coupon. So, that's waht we are going to do. Easy enough. I can pretty much guarantee he will be the only coupon in our neighborhood. LOL. Probably ANY neighborhood!
He keeps us laughing and hopping. I know he's more difficult than some children but I honestly wouldn't want him any other way!
