Busy....busy...busy

We are a bit behind on our babysite!  It seems as if this Spring has just flown by at the George house.  From a fun St. Patty's Day here in Granbury, to Easter Egg painting and hunts, a special Easter Sunday at our church-as we opened our new sanctuary, a visit from Aunt Brandy and Uncle Jeff (and baby Jacob), a visit to the Waco zoo, a trip to Corpus to see our nephew Andrew graduate from high school (way to go Drew!!), seeing the Dougherty grandparents in Corpus, and meeting our new nephew, Dylan, to VBS at our church....we have lots of photos to share.  I am working on getting all of the new albums up on the babysite soon.  :0)

Well, we knew it would happen.....our little fella is turning into a big boy right before our eyes. We have had some adventures in potty training and it is just priceless to see his little long legs in his "big boy" underpants.  He is getting so tall and looks so cute in his new undies.  Right now his very favorite things are...swimming, mowing the grass, riding his scooter from his Aunt Roni and Uncle Doug, playing in the sprinklers, digging in the dirt and sand with his construction machines, reading his tractor and construction machine books, singing songs and playing his guitars (he is a guitar maniac).

Here are some of his favorite songs these days:
"Sing, sing, sing"    Chris Tomlin
"Jesus Messiah"    Chris Tomlin
"I'm a big red firetruck" Music and lyrics by mommy
"John Deere Green" Joe Diffy
"Jump Up"             Imagination Movers
"Yes to VBS"        VBS song
ANY song on the "John Deere for Kids CD"
Name 'o (BINGO - you know, Bingo was his 'name 'o")
ARKY (Rise and Shine and give God the glory)"
and the ole' favorites: I'm a Little Teapot, Wheels on the Bus, Row Your Boat, Old MacDonald, and just about anything else.

As you can see, Davis is a real music lover.  He really has an ear for music...sometimes when we are playing music, he points out out the violins, acoustic and electric guitars, tubas, saxaphone, accordians, and steel drums in the songs...it just amazes me!  Over the last several months, his little personality has really been shining through.  He tells us stories, makes silly jokes, tell us about his day, changes the lyrics on his favorite songs to make funny songs, and just loves to chat and ask all kinds of questions.  Recently we have had to explain to our dear little Davis that he has to wait his turn to talk and explain about interrupting not being very polite.  He has been working on touching our hands and saying "excuse me" when he has something 'important' to say.  Then when mommy and daddy finish talking, we will ask Davis what he wanted to say and it is usually, "ummmmmmm......ummmmmm".  Ha!!  But, hey, at least he is learing to be patient.

Parenthood is such an amazing blessing and we just love it.  It is so good to know God gives us an abundance amount of grace....and we can pass that grace to our little ones when there are tough days!  And, yes - there have been some really tough days! :0)

Love in Christ,
The George Family
