Feb - Dec 2011 slacker update

Ok, I've been a slacker.  I don't think I've ever gone this long without adding pictures or adding a journal entry.  Our life seems to get more busy by the minute, 2011 has been a whirlwind of craziness for us.  Here's an update on the kids

Carter -  Last update he turned five in February.  He graduated from Montessori school and graduated from speech therapy as well.  He started kindergarden in August, he's doing great in math, struggling a little in reading, but we are working with him, as is his wonderful teacher.  Medically wise, he's doing very well.  He barely ever gets sick, at his last eye exam everything looked so good that he may not even have to wear glassess.  This was a shock to us since the told us years ago it would likely be preschool that he would need glasses, then next visit it was kindergarden or 1st grade.  Now manybe not at all!!  At his last development pedi appointment he also did well, the doc is a little concerned with possible ADHD, but said it's too soon to diagnose him.  We have another appointment with the dev pedi within the next few months to reaccess and see how he's doing in kindergarden.  Sports wise, he played T ball, which we were able to get more participation than soccer, which is huge in it's self.  He was sorta kinda into it, but I think we'll try a different sport next year.  The kids both did gymnastics over the summer, both loved it!

Lauren (Lu Lu) - Well my little girl isn't really a baby anymore.  She turned three on April 29th.   She moved up to the next class at montesorri school for the 3-6 years old (Carter's previous class).  It was a bit of an adjustment, as we learned from her teacher that Lu Lu was used to ruling the roost, and that was not how the new class worked.  Lu Lu and the teacher finally got on the same page after several weeks of struggle (well Lu Lu got on the teachers page).  She's great at her assignments and likes to try and count and read (she wants to do homework like Carter).  I think having a bigger brother has really helped her catch on much faster with her numbers and letters, ect.  She's into princesses now, although still likes Dora.  We had a parent conference and her teacher told us that Carter and Lauren are complete polar opposites.  Carter is very reserved and quiet, not interested in lessons, and has no sense of urgency at all.  Lu Lu = opposite in every way.  Carter would never get off the mat when he's not supposed to, he's compliant in school and typically follows rules.  Lu Lu = she'll get off the mat and have to be redirected.

I've added random pictures from the last eight months, so check them out!

Thanks for visiting,
The Hare Family
