Well, it's been a wild four months!

We are so happy to have Mara as part of our family! It's been a wild few months, getting her settled in and adjusted. She's also been sick with a bronchial infection. Breathing treatments every four hours for a week. Some weeks, she'd get me up every few hours. Some weeks, she sleeps through at least 3-4 nights a week. I never knew I could function on such little sleep!

Overall, it's been amazing. We love her so much its unreal. She is sweet, bright (learning fast!), and opinionated. She now says Mama, Dada, and Nana. She used to say "bye bye" but apparently that's gone out of fashion because we never hear it anymore. Her first real "word" to us was Goy... whenever she was happy, she'd say Goy Goy Goy. Now, she just babbles kinda like regular baby babble, trying to mimic us. It's true - the days go by quickly!

She's outgrown two pairs of shoes and much of her first wardrobe. She has learned that toys are for playing (she had no idea in China), and just recently "got" stuffed animals, now she's crazy about her froggy, her puppy and her Tigger animals.

Mara also loves the dog and giggles wildly whenever she sees the cat. The cat is not amused and the dog is tolerating her... he's pretty jealous of her status but he's been very sweet and gentle with her.

Wow, it's been amazing!

Our friend Jim took some amazing "first year" photos, I'm going to post a few here for you. I can't believe how much she sparkles. (But then, I'm prejudiced!)

Thanks for checking in!
