We are very proud to announce the arrival of Zachary Joseph Heckstetter. He was born on November 11 at 9:52 a.m. It was very nice being able to plan ahead for my delivery and to let everyone know what times the little one would arrive. We had an amazing experience with all of the doctors and nurses while being prepped for my surgery. I had some blood pressure issues and thy stayed with me the whole time to make sure I was okay. We entered the operating room at about 9:30 and little Zachary was born about 20 minutes later. The nurses had to call the NICU down because he was struggling a little with breathing. After watching him for about 20 minutes they decided that he could go up to the regular nursery instead of NICU, but we were not able to keep him in recovery to meet the family like we did with Jacob. I also had some issues with bleeding after Zachary was born so they had to give me extra clotting medicine. They also found a mass on my colon, but thankfully reports from pathology show that is is just a fatty tumor. Zachary was finally rolled into my room around 1:45 and the entire family got to meet him.
Zachary is doing pretty well with feedings although he doesn't always like to attach. We will keep working with it though. Jacob has been an amazing big brother so far and loves to give Zachary kisses and hugs. We will see how long that lasts :) . Enjoy the photos!
Kindest Regards,
The Heckstetter Family
