2010 is off to a great start for the Kussmann family.  Despite Graham being sick (fevers of 104-105 for 4 days) with Roseola at Christmas, we had a great visit with family.  Graham had fun hanging out with his cousins and grandparents.  He was spoiled with tons of presents that he had no interest in opening but does enjoy playing with.   We went to a New Years eve party at Graham's friend's house and had a great time.  It was so fun to see four 15-16 month old play together and to hang out with other parents.  The extremely cold weather the first week of 2010 prevented us from doing much but we're back into the swing of things now.  Saturday we went for a trial class at The Little Gym and loved it.  Graham was all over the equipment and particularly liked the parallel bars and playing parachute. We came over for a bite to eat and a nap before Graham's friend Kate came over to play.  They chased each other all through the house screaming and laughing- it was really cute.  Graham hasn't had a friend over to play since he was really little so we weren't sure how he would do with sharing his toys.  We were so pleased when he was eager to show Kate his toys and for the most parts he did a great job of sharing.  We had a great evening and both kids were exhausted by the time it was over.  Yesterday we went to visit a friend who was up from Springfield and Graham got to hang out with 6 other kids, two cats and a dog.  Needless to say, he was a bit overwhelmed and didn't really know where to start :)  It was great to see Robin and her kids- I even got to hold the baby without Graham getting upset.  Today Graham and I are enjoying the day together.  Kris has to work so it's Mommy special day.  I wanted to do something to teacher Graham about diversity but couldn't really think of anything age appropriate.  Instead we spend the morning at the library where we played toys, did a puppet show, read books, sat in lots of really cool chairs and did sea shell arts and crafts.  What a fun morning.  We made a quick trip to the mall so I could return something and I decided to let Graham play in the kids area for the first time.  Within 30 seconds of being out of his stroller (before playing on anything) he was kicked in the face by and older kid.  Poor Graham I think it really hurt him- he cried for a long time and wouldn't go back into the play area when he settled down.  The boy who kicked him did not do it on purpose but didn't appologize or seem to care that Graham was really hurt- nor did his Grandma who was there with him-rude  So Graham and I shook it off and headed home for a nap.
