My friends, all I can say is that I am sorry that I left you with an entire month without an update! To say things have been busy is an understatement. In my last journal, I told you all about the traveling we have been doing. But, we were not done yet!!First, let’s start with September. Mommy & Daddy were very excited that it was football season again. I certainly can see why as I really enjoy watching football. Just ask my Papa or Papa Doc!! Every few weeks or so Mommy & Daddy leave for a day so I can watch football with them! They tell me that they are going to watch the Gamecocks play in Columbia, but I don’t know why they have to go all the way to Columbia when you can watch them at home. But it is good to see them get out and about and that just let me have a break and hang out with Papa & Joni or Mamajane & Papa Doc.
The first game, I stayed with Papa & Joni in Greenville. Joni took me to the Children’s Museum and it was really fun! As always, I enjoying running up and down the halls at their house. The next game was only a few days later on a Thursday night and Mamajane came to my house. I love reading books and playing with puzzles with her.
The following weekend was our big travel weekend. We drove all the way to Nashville, TN for Colleen & Allen’s wedding. It was a very long drive. So long, the first night we stayed in Knoxville. When we arrived in Nashville, Mommy & Daddy had a big surprise for me. We went to the zoo. It was awesome! I saw monkeys, tigers (me-ee-s), nakes (snakes), meerkats, isshes (fish), birds big and small and of all colors, elephants, giraffes, gosh the list goes on and on. Also at the zoo there was a giant playground. I think it was the biggest one I have even seen! There was an area of a bunch of large pads where I perfected my somersaults and I taught some of the other kids how to jump off things. There was a fun tunnel to go in and a big slide as well. I was sad that we had to leave, but all the animals needed to go “night night” so I understood.
That evening we had dinner with everyone where Allen was going to be playing. Let’s see there was Papa, Joni, Steve, Sarah, Parker, Great Grandmommy, Lisa, Sue, Fred, Adam, Ralph, Peggy, David, Trish and of course Colleen & Allen. I really liked listening and dancing to Allen play. Mommy says that a few years back when I was still in her tummy, Allen’s singing would make me kick and move around.
The next day we walked around downtown Nashville in the morning, then had a nice long nap before the wedding. I got to dress up in a fancy dress and since it was at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Daddy bought me boots to wear. It was really fun and I was a good girl during the wedding. My favorite part of the Hall of Fame was the big open entrance where I enjoyed running around. The reception was at a local restaurant and there were tons of people there. The next morning we sadly had to leave, which I am getting really good at car rides. Even if they are 6 – 7 hours long!
The next weekend Mama Jane & Papa Doc came to see me. Mommy & Daddy were off to another football game. I had a blast climbing all over Papa Doc and reading with Mamajane. The next game was Papa & Joni’s turn and they came to my house too! They took me to IKEA, the mall and to Target. I like shopping with them, they buy me things!!
That weekend, I took Papa & Joni to a pumpkin patch. There were goats, pigs, bunnies, horses, and cows there! Oh, and yes pumpkins, which I picked out my very own and put it in the wagon all by myself.
I am becoming a really good helper around the house. One thing that I enjoy is helping unload the dishwasher. There is a photo of me doing just that in the latest group. I like to go get things for you and put things up as well. Every night I pick up all my toys and put them back where they go. Now if I could just get Daddy to put his shoes where they go every night we would be in business! I enjoy dancing to music, chasing the cat around the house, running the dog over with my scooter (he usually moves out of the way), and of course still one of my favorite things to do is read.
Halloween was just last weekend and I was a fairy angel. I really enjoyed Mommy putting make-up on me and glitter in my hair. A few days before Halloween my school was having a fall carnival, so I got to dress up twice. I also go to ride a pony!!! Trick-or-treating was fun. I visited a few people I knew and they gave me candy. I really think I am going to like this holiday!
Love,
Jocelyn
