Potty Progress: How did it happen? I don't know. When did it happen? mid-October. Why did it happen? It was time baby. It was time. I told Josh one day when he had to poop that we had no more pull-ups & that he would have to go on the potty. He was NOT happy about that, but went on the potty. After 2 or so days of that....miraculously....he started telling me when he had to go & there was no struggle about it! After every successful...errr....trip...Josh exclaims "I did it!" Now he's been in underwear for 2 whole weeks - every day! Only pull-ups at night now. Thank God.
Word fun: Josho cracks us up with his words. He has a certain way of pronouncing things. His own dialect. And apparantly I'm the only one truly fluent in Josh. Here are some translations: tar = car, movyvo = motorcycle, eever = even, wah = saw, tootie = cookie, dandy = candy, Viva = Leah, baboon = balloon....and many more!
Boo: Happy Halloween 2008! We hurried to finish our Chinese take-out & get our costumes on as the sun slowly sank. Josh was ready to get some "dandy!" Anna's mom called as we were getting ready - we would meet her down the street. Josh ran down the sidewalk to greet his friend & her parents Christina & Mike. We started down the little side street by our house. By the time we went down & back Sydney had fallen asleep! Her 10 minutes of Halloween was up! Mama took her back home & put her to bed while Papa took Josh out with Anna to go trick-or-treating. Along the way they met up with Alejandro & his parents Ron & Yolanda. After nearly filling up his pumpkin they turned around & headed back to another part of the neighborhood. Mama & Papa switched off, Josh dumped out his candy in the house & we continued towards Anna's house. The kids were so cute as they ran up to each house with a light on. Josh yelled out "trick-or-treat!" even before he made it to the doors! We walked all over...and wished we would have brought a flashlight with us! the weather was really nice. Probably in the high 70's when we started & high 60's when we finished. And the kids didn't want to stop. "More dandy!" shouted Josh. Finally at 8:50 we called it quits. When we got home Josh peeled off his costume & then dumped out all of his candy on the floor. He picked out one piece to eat before bed - a little bag of candy corns - which he offered to share with Mama & Papa. It was an awesome night & we probably have enough candy to last until next Halloween!
