First Family Trip to the Beach as a Family of Four Date: 07/28/2010 03:00:00 AM
We took our first family trip to the beach as a family of four to celebrate Praveen's birthday. We all had a wonderful time in Watercolor, Florida and enjoyed the company of our friends Alok and Radhika and their 2 year old daughter Raina. Vikas loved having a playmate for the beach and the pool. Rekha got to go to the beach for the first time and went in the pool for the first time. She did not seem to care for the beach that much but she loved being in the pool.
It was definitely hot enough for all of us. Vikas and Raina enjoyed having their fair share of icecream on the trip. The car ride was a bit challenging with two little ones. Mommy and Daddy had to take turns wedging themselves in the backseat between two carseats. Fortunately, they both slept pretty well on the trip which was a nice surprise.
Vikas has made some great steps towards being fully potty trained. We are still not quite ready to tackle moving him into a big boy bed yet. Rekha is doing a great job of holding her head up and is very aware now if Mommy or Daddy is not in her site. She also seems to "laugh" at some of her big brother's antics.
We are all looking forward to the arrival of Aunt Prathima and Uncle Omar's son in early August. Vikas and Rekha will have their first cousin and Praveen and I are looking forward to having our first nephew.
